Watertower World is a sustainable fashion brand that was founded in 2022, among the watertowers of New York City. Sustainable practices of upcycling, made-to-order production, deadstock sourcing, digital fashion, and ethical labor are all fundamental priorities at Watertower World. Nostalgia and forgotten history are deep within the DNA of the Watertower World brand. Abandoned cityscapes, street art & graffiti, forgotten objects, vintage muscle cars, obscure musical instruments, retro typography, hidden raves, and global exploration are key themes for collections. Stories of female heroines, such as astronauts, scientists, skateboarders, spies, racers, performers, pilots, and inventors are woven into every Watertower World design.

During her time at FIT, Katrina Ahuja began her exploration into the sustainable practice of upcycling garments, taking basic thrifted items and remaking them into one-of-a-kind garments that bear the history of their past lives. After Katrina’s upcycled thesis pieces were featured in the 2022 FIT fashion show for the graduating class, she founded Watertower World where she continues to create innovative, sustainable, upcycled and digital fashion.
